Who We are and What We Do
  • We enable members to witness and do missions personally.
  • We pray for missionaries, give to mission causes, and volunteer for short-term mission projects.
  • We minister to people who are not believers or part of the church.
  • We embrace our vision of challenging Christians to understand and be radically involved on mission with God.

 

Our Five Strategic Principles
  1. Develop spiritually towards a missions lifestyle.
  2. Pray for and give to Missions.
  3. Participate in Missions: locally, in North Carolina, and in the world.
  4. Learn about missions.
  5. Take part in the work of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Southern Baptist Convention.

 

Women on Mission

Live the Call! Too many inside and outside the walls of the church have an inadequate answer to one of life's most pressing questions: What am I living for? Those who have not found an authentic answer to this question drift through life in search of significance. Missions-minded believers have discovered the answer-they live the call.

"Wrapped In Love" (Dorcas Quilting Ministry).
Dorcas used her sewing needle to spread the love of Jesus by helping those in need. This group meets every Thursday in room 306 from 9:30-11:30 AM. They make quilts for various ministries, such as the Baptist Children's Home, Pregnancy Care Center and the Florence Crittenton Home. No quilting experience necessary.

Love in action

Love in Action is a multi-focus group that serves North Charlotte and Cabarrus County, showing the love of Jesus by meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs.  We currently minister to a children's home, nursing home, addiction-recovery home, inner-city outreach and others.  Meetings are every-other-month at North Campus.

Opportunities to Serve

WMU offers many opportunities to serve and get involved, whether in one of our established groups or as part of short-term projects. We sponsor Operation Christmas Child and the Angel Trees at HGBC, as well as other one time mission projects.
Whether you can volunteer once a month, once a quarter, or once a year... We have a place for you!
